eSIM

News has it Google will release a new mid range eSIM capable Pixel 3a

The word has it that Google is expected to introduce a pair of new devices at a lower price point than the Pixel 3 and 3 XL that were launched last year.

The price point is still not confirmed but instead of paying $800 for a Pixel 3 or 3XL the new devices are according to a picture leaked from what appears to be a Canadian carrier where the respective price tags are showing going to cost only $649 CAD for a Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL will retail for $799 CAD.

The above figures are in Canadian Dollars, so when converting them to USD the price point would be: US$485 and US$597 for the Pixel 3a and 3a XL respectively. This is aligned with other leaks and rumours.

Even Google themselves has leaked details about the launch on their website and strongly hinted that the new devices are set for an announcement at the company’s I/O 2019 keynote on May 7th 2019 by writing “Something big is coming to the Pixel universe,”on the Google Store,

Both new devices are expected be eSIM supported. This means that users of these devices can enjoy Global Connectivity with the esim.travel solution

Both new mid range phones are expected to have the same fantastic camera performance like the more expensive devices in the Pixel 3 range. But the new phones are expected to be plastic-backed and come in three different colours White, Black and Iris. Exactly what colour “Iris” is has not been conformed but we are guessing it is a mixture of blue and violet and other leaks has also mentioned a violet colour option.

We are not able to present any final specs for the Pixel 3a and 3a XL for obvious reasons as they have not been confirmed yet but we have combined the leaks and rumours below to give you an idea about the specs of these new phones.
